何懷碩Huai- Shuo Ho
Born in Guangdong in 1941, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University and has a Master of Arts degree from St. John’s University in New York. After graduation, he continued to engage in art education, calligraphy and painting creation, as well as art theory, cultural criticism and literary writing. He was a former professor at National Taiwan Normal University, Taipei University of the Arts, Tsinghua University, and Chinese Culture University.
As a famous Chinese ink painter, calligrapher and theorist at home and abroad from the mid to late 20th century to the present, his works use the essence of Chinese tradition to capture the advantages and strengths of the West and integrate them to create modern Chinese paintings. He has held many solo exhibitions in Taipei, Hong Kong, Europe and the United States and his works has been collected by museums and famous collectors.
